Hi, I’m Lynn Abaté-Johnson (pronounced Ah-Bah-TAY Johnson)

In case we haven’t “met” (yet), let me introduce myself properly. I am an author, and that makes me a creative human. I write non-fiction, and I weave my personal stories throughout my business experience, as well as lessons I’ve been learning over decades. I share my stories and lessons through my 1:1 and course work with conscious brands, collaborative teams and passionate, purposeful entrepreneurs. I’m particularly focused on global leadership and transformation in the area of health and wellness.

This is a mixed-bag sort of article, as I continue my transformational journey through leadership, caregiving, and grief. This season, I’m noticing new ways that I’ve been using my voice to #ShowUpYOU (as me!). For some of you, you’ll recognize that tag. Show Up YOU is a course I offer with unique curriculum I created in service of humans in business. I have a growing WaitList you are welcome to join if you are interested in working with me 1:1 or in an online course. Simply fill out that form and let me know how I may be of service, and we’ll set up a 15 minute chat!

I used to work exclusively with entrepreneurs, brands, collaborative teams. I help them understand how to SHOW UP in a way that builds True Community locally and globally, if that’s what is desired and required.

Lately, since I’ve become a 2X International bestselling author, I’ve been in more conversations than ever before. I’ve guested on more podcasts than I can count. I’ve been featured in major publications, and some small ones as well. I’ve even been on live radio…so much fun, all of it! The conversations often come back around to how, as a human full of empathy and firey passion, I negotiate my personal and business life through all the twists and turns. In fact, I believe that business is personal, and I wrote a previous blog post about that here.

Today, mainly because there’s been a demand for it, through all of these conversations I’ve had with people in my life, and “strangers” who are reaching out to me in many ways, I am also serving writers and authors to Show Up YOU, as the creative beings they are.

I pushed myself recently to raise my hand to have a book signing event in my hometown, Oceanside, California. This is an Art Walk that happens once a month. It’s produced by Oceanside Friends of the Arts. Corey (my husband) and I have been browsing and shopping this event for years. There are SO many creatives in this area of San Diego County, and we want to support them as much as possible.

Bottom line is that even though I used to tell myself (a big fat lie) that I wasn’t creative, I have begun to view myself in this role as well as all the others I hold. I am proud of myself that I asked to be included. The answer was a warm and welcoming “YES”, even though there had never been a local author there before.

So, I feel like a new transformational journey in leadership is tacking onto my previous paths. It is sometimes surprising to me that I’m showing up in these new ways. And I long to do more of this kind of community building as I share my own art and work with others who want to do the same.

An added surprise element of this recent public foray into the art world is that I brought my PAUA jewelry along with me to “test” the market, literally. So far, I would say it’s a great idea to combine my writing & publishing with designing and creating one-of-a-kind PAUA pendant necklaces, earrings, bracelets and ankles, all inspired by the beautiful Mama Ocean. It’s all a part of who I am!

For now, the only art I’m offering on this website are my books. I published Out Of Love: A Daughter’s Journey With Her Mom To The End, in service of other family caregivers. I wrote this book in the years after my mom’s death from cancer to provide emotional and logistical support for families.

In my most recent bestselling non-fiction, I contributed a chapter to this book, Voices Of The 21st Century: Women Empowered Through Passion And Purpose. This one was written globally, by women, and for women, to encourage and inspire all. My chapter is entitled: “You Are Worthy Of Love”, about a time in my life when I did not believe that was true for me. Looking at me today, you might never guess I’m the same person I wrote that chapter about.

I’m proud of both of my books.

I love signing them personally for each purchaser. These make wonderful and unique gifts as well. Easy ordering here for your convenience.

There’s so much more in this conversation, and I’d much rather have it F2F (Face To Face) or at least on a quick phone call, so let’s connect soon, shall we?

Meanwhile, off to Paris!

I get to go cheer my niece Nikita Ducarroz as she returns to the Summer Olympic Games in Paris, where she’ll compete on July 30th and 31st. If you’d like to follow Nikita’s journey (also one of transformation through leadership, with a special sensibility for mental health), you can find Nikita here and on Instagram here and here.

For my physics buffs in the community, Nikita was interviewed by Neil deGrasse Tyson ahead of the Olympics. Fascinating stuff here.

Thank you for reading my article.

Please feel free to share it with others you care about in life, and in business. I love and appreciate referrals, if you think of anyone you know while you are getting to know me better.

What have you noticed about your own creativity as your life has changed over the years? What are you “working” on? Please comment below. ⬇️

I’d also love to add you to my mailing list, where I send occasional updates about upcoming appearances and projects I’m working on. Please consider joining me there, as I promise never to spam you and you may opt-out at any time.
