When Business Is Personal

I was recently featured on a blog that I value - immeasurably.

The work of Lynn Lambrecht, Founder and Creator of The Living Planner, is more important than ever in our VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous) world.

I met Lynn years ago, BC (Before Covid), at a local (San Diego) women’s networking luncheon. From the moment I heard her personal and professional stories about how she flew to New York City to be with the loved ones of people who had perished in the 9/11 attacks, I knew that she was not only an extraordinary human being, with the capacity and stamina of a true warrior, she also had the lived experience to help inform, and liberate others by helping them prepare for the inevitable in all our lives…death of a loved one.

Fast forward to today, and my own father, approaching age 87, is using Lynn’s tool to prepare for the time when he will eventually leave the planet, and take all his detailed knowledge with him. As I write, he’s using The Living Planner, doing his best to document, with Lynn’s expert guidance there, all the pertinent details that can often die with the loved one.

Have a look at the blog post, and learn how I work with businesses in a holistic way, bringing the whole human to the workplace, as we all navigate the discomfort and often unpleasant tasks that life and death present to us.

I believe that to the extent we bring our whole selves to our professions, while doing our own inner work, we can help transform and even heal our world, starting with ourselves and our local communities.

Of course, none of us is able to navigate these life & leadership lessons alone. When business is personal and our personal lives are entwined with our business lives, we learn through deep curiosity and connection with other human beings.

For me, it took hiring a coach. Back when my mom was fighting cancer (2011), I had a life coach, Laura Fenamore, who helped me through some pretty tough, sleepless traumatic stress and anxiety years. Those were the years I “ate” my feelings, or starved myself, binging on sugar, in an effort to feel “normal” and comforted.

Years later, I hired a business coach, Bryan Kramer, who, to this day, is a dear friend and mentor.

And today, I am truly blessed to have found an intuitive coach, Tina Meyers, who helps me explore my innate curiosity in ways I never thought of, which also led me to publish my International Best-Selling book, and embrace all the public-speaking opportunities I’ve had the pleasure of being invited to.

One thing about life:

it continues to get
LIFE-y.
Change is constant; something to be embraced, and aligned with, however we are able to find our paths as individuals and part of the collective consciousness in our world.

May we all meet and connect with more coaches, mentors, and friends like Lynn Lambrecht, Laura Fenamore, Bryan Kramer, and Tina Meyers.

Because business is personal, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

After all, it’s our humanity, relationships,
and connectedness that makes all the difference.

And we all need each other today, more than ever.

If you are curious about how we could work together, I’d love to hear from you. Simply reach out here to schedule a 15 minute conversation.

Let's Do This. We are a team, we take action. we are focused.
